Chemical Engineering Department was built up in 1994-1995. It is situated in Workshop No.3 at the Southern Part of the Main Building, Mandalay Technological University.

Chemical Engineering Department was founded in 1994 – 1995 under Mandalay Technological University, Mandalay, Myanmar. At that time, the Head of Chemical Engineering Department was Daw Aye Aye Kyaw (Associate Professor). From 1994 to 2004, undergraduate course (regular) in chemical engineering was offered and undergraduate course (in service) in chemical engineering was offered from 2001 to 2005 at Mandalay Technological University. In academic year 2004 – 2005, master program (regular) in chemical engineering was offered. Since 2004, master program (in service) in chemical engineering was offered. Ph.D program in chemical engineering was offered in Department of Chemical Engineering at Mandalay Technological University since 2005.
