About Us

The Electrical Power Engineering department is for providing students with application-oriented outcome-based education related to electrical technologies. We are always trying to offer the subjects which ensure the relevance to the latest technology. We are also encouraging the professional development of the faculty.

According to the accreditation of Myanmar Engineering Council, the Electrical Power Engineering Programme is to satisfy the educational needs of human society that fosters technical competence, personal growth and willingness of lifelong learning.

The Department of Electrical Power Engineering is one of the departments founded in the earliest days of Mandalay Institute of Technology (now renamed as Mandalay Technological University) since October 1991 together with Civil, Mechanical, Electronics, Chemical and Architecture Departments.

To produce comprehensively trained, skillful, socially and environmentally responsible, ethically and emotionally strong and innovative electrical engineers and researches of highest quality who are capable of handling the technical challenges of the modern world and willing to contribute his offered for the development in Electrical sector of our country and for the betterment of our future world.

To promote the electrical power engineering department as a centre of excellence that completed with practical, theoretical and advanced training appliances in the fields of power system engineering, power electronic and industrial drives, renewable energy and other related areas of research.
